I have worked with computers as a web designer and developer for the last 5 years. I use a computer all day at work, and often for a few hours at night. Well I did until recently when I was struck with RSI (Repetitive Strain Injury).
After visiting a doctor and then a physiotherapist it turns out that I was developing the early stages of carpal tunnel syndrome. It all started one night when the fingers in my right hand went number and had pins-and-needles. The numbness went away to leave a burning ache in my elbow and shoulder. So Apple have now not only decided that it’s best to have all of their laptops look the same (unibody design) but now also be called the same thing. No longer will there be MacBooks and MacBook Pros but now there will only be MacBook Pros. So after a long search of more than 2 years, Paul and I have finally bought a house!
It’s very exciting to finally own a house, even though the moving was not the most fun experience ever. It’s amazing how much space things take up when you move (we didn’t really have that much stuff) but still managed to fill a large removalists truck and still do a few trips ourselves.
But even though it was tough, we have now moved in… now to just unpack everything.

So after seeing the new MacBook Pros get released last year, waiting for Apple to eventually release a new 17-inch version, and then waiting for my order, I have now finally got myself a new 17-inch MacBook Pro.
I have already talked about the new features of the 17-inch MacBook Pro before so no need to bore anyone with that again, instead I will let you know about my initial impressions of the new machine.
For starters it is quite shiny and nice, the new unibody design seems very sturdy. I have already noticed that the new model does not seem to get as hot (to touch) as the previous version (which gets very hot).
